Make your agar coloured so you can spot growth quicker. Adding colourants to your agar is a great way of colour coding transfer families and the different colours give a great bright background to see mycelium growth as well as helping to spot contamination growth faster.
If you like to take pictures of your agar plates. Adding bright colourants will really help your art work stand out from the crowd. 
Edible, extra strong, high temp food colouring. Just add 5 drips to 1000 ml agar solution. Mix well and Sterilise as required.
